Myesha Anderson, 36 affectionately known as Bawse Lady” is a strong believer in God, beauty entrepreneur and owner of the upscale MA Beauty Suites Salon.Barber.Spa in Lansing, Illinois. Myesha has spent over 9 years in the beauty industry as an IL licensed cosmetologist. Styling clients all over the Chicagoland area instructing future hair professionals (youth and adults) on the techniques of hair styling, best business practices in this industry and how to take charge of their career in the beauty field as of today. Myesha Anderson knew from the age of 9, selling candy at Evergreen bowling alley in Chicago, IL that she was going to be her own boss one day. It was her uncle Emanuel that invested in her first business. It was not until the age of 11 that she found her passion for making people feel good, feel beautiful while styling their hair. Her motto is “treat others the way you want to be treated”. Growing up on the southeast side of Chicago, then moving to the southeast suburbs Calumet City, IL. She was raised in a loving home with her mother, shared many great times with her father, summers with her aunt and uncle and a village of family members that helped mold and shape her upbringing. Myesha was always about how I can help others, while also helping myself. Her passion for hair showed all through her high school years, in neighborhoods around the city of Chicago, family, friends, professionals you name it. Myesha developed her unwavering passion for hair and wanted to pursue cosmetology school right after high school but God had other plans. She attended the illustrious HBCU Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, AL. In 2012, Myesha received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and minored in Sociology. Although she was pursuing her degree she never put the comb down! After classes, before and after work Myesha was doing her classmates and professors' hair. After living in Huntsville, AL for 7 years, pursuing her education, being a hairstylist and having dreams of owning her own salon…never ceased. Myesha moved back to Chicago, IL to embark on the path that was destined it was God’s plans. In 2013 she enrolled in Dudley Beauty College Chicago, IL it was there that her passion met the flame that still burns inside of her today. It was Dudley Beauty College that as a young girl was the epitome of what a professional hairstylist would look like, walk like, talk like, and smell like. It was there as a young girl that she saw the flow of how the salon business is run and well kept after. It was there that she knew her life would change forever more. Myesha became a IL licensed cosmetologist in 2015 and she has not looked back since. In 2017, she received her Master of Science in Organizational Leadership degree that made room for her entrepreneurship career to blossom. In 2018, Myesha attempted to open a salon suite business in Lansing, IL however due to laws and other unforeseen events the business was not able to flourish. It was in 2020 that we had to close our doors to Prime Xample/MA Beauty Suites ultimately due to Covid-19. None of this stopped Myesha, her grind turned all the up! It was that year 2020 that Myesha became a full time cosmetologist and has been for the last 4 years. During that time she traveled the city doing hair, when businesses opened back up she planted herself in a barbershop in the area she knew she wanted to see her salon to be located. Three years later after much hard work, late nights, long hours styling women, men and children, stacking and saving. God’s truest plan was revealed, our salon and suites today MA Beauty Suites. Where we provide an upscale space for our beauty/barber professionals to service their clients with ease, convenience and class. Myesha currently lives in the Chicagoland area with her loving family, friends and supporters. If she is not providing hair services to her clients, she is teaching at the salon and natural hair/braiding classes at local middle/high schools, speaking at career days, mentoring up and coming professionals and a host of other opportunities to give back. Myesha has many more dreams to accomplish in this industry and looks forward to always being a pillar in the beauty community for many many years to come!!
